A tuition assistance program, also called a tuition reimbursement program, is a human resources (HR) benefit in which a company provides financial assistance to an employee to continue their education. This benefit is generally offered by larger corporations, which typically provide some or all of the tuition fees for the student, but not room and board expenses. Tuition assistance programs differ from tuition reimbursement programs in that they sometimes provide assistance to an employee before a course has been taken or completed. Tuition assistance programs can include degree or non-degree programs.
