Portfolio rationalization is an exercise for evaluating courses within a training curriculum to determine which courses are useful and valued by the business, and which ones are not. The ultimate objective is to determine whether courses or programs should be continued or eliminated. The Portfolio Rationalization Model is one tool for evaluating a portfolio’s usefulness.
