A learning record store (LRS) serves as a data repository where informal learning activities are tracked and measured by an experience API (xAPI). LRSs can operate both independently and as part of an organization’s learning management system (LMS). The LRS allows for communication among other technologies for the purpose of learning analytics and measurement.
