Bloom’s Taxonomy of Skills

Bloom’s taxonomy is a classification of cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning. Each of these three types of learning contain hierarchical levels of achievement. For cognitive learning, these levels include knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation. For affective learning, these levels include receiving, responding, valuing, organizing and characterizing. For psychomotor learning, these levels include perception and awareness, set, guided response, mechanism, complex overt response, adaptation and origination.
