In 2022, $102 billion was spent on training globally. Yet, an alarming 40% of tech workers reported in a recent Skillable survey that the learning technologies they use don’t help them do their jobs better. Inadequate training exposes organizations to many risks: missed innovation, costly errors, and vulnerabilities; an unprepared customer experience (CX) organization; and being left behind in the competitive race for tech talent.

The same tech workers indicated that they want to see more content that’s relevant to their role (59%) and more than a third (37%) said they need training tied to their specific level or expertise.

When asked what would make the learning experience more engaging, 67% of survey respondents said real-world applications — the top answer. More content isn’t the answer: content personalized for an individual’s role that helps them get job-ready is the future of information technology (IT) training. Join Sarah Danzl, chief marketing officer at Skillable, to learn how real-world, experiential learning can pave the way to the future of training for skills-based organizations.
