Today’s business world has pressured leaders and managers to maintain employee engagement and facilitate career development. Due to this shift, the role of leaders has evolved to include a responsibility to provide coaching, support employee development and retain top talent. However, individuals in leadership may not be well equipped to succeed with their new mentoring duties.

During this session, Daniel Mills, senior learning consultant at Valamis, will take a look at how the focus of leadership in organizations has shifted from business and performance to include learning and development (L&D) and talent management.

This session will provide insights on:

● How leadership responsibilities have evolved to include employee career development.
● How conducting self-assessments can empower leaders to increase team engagement.
● How leaders can learn to facilitate better career development conversations with their teams.
