When planning leadership development strategies, the primary focus tends to be on the formal learning experiences — the courses or modules that make up the curriculum. But just as much, if not more, can be gleaned from the space between those courses — the informal touchpoints that are created for learners as part of an ongoing learning journey. When these informal touchpoints are designed and spaced intentionally within that journey, they can deliver amazing results.

This session will be led by Katy Bailey, senior product lead in leadership development at GP Strategies. Informed by GP Strategies research and practice with clients across the globe, this session will focus on creating informal yet impactful leadership development experiences that can supplement and synergize with formal training offerings.

This interactive session will provide insights on:

• How the concepts of “informal” and “intentional” can co-exist in a learning experience.
• Top informal leadership development strategies that can aid in learning retention and application.
• Best practices for combining formal and informal learning experiences for maximum impact.
• How to create the conditions that maximize the success of leadership development efforts.
