Disengagement across generations stems from various factors, such as misaligned values, differing communication styles, lack of recognition, limited opportunities for career development and insufficient support for work-life balance. But solving these problems can look different for learners of different generations. By exploring the needs of each generation, we’ll discuss innovative and immersive learning approaches to cultivate a more inclusive and engaging work environment.

In this interactive session, Ellen Burns-Johnson, lead learning strategist at ELB Learning, will guide participants to overcome biases associated with generations and develop inclusion strategies that can reduce turnover, increase knowledge sharing, expand partnerships and heighten employee engagement.

In this session, participants will:

Ellen Burns-Johnson, Lead Learning Strategist, ELB Learning

Ellen is an award-winning learning experience designer and strategist with over a decade of experience in L&D. She’s also a game designer, podcaster, Agile practitioner and innovation evangelist. She believes in “people and interactions over processes and tools,” and in harnessing the power of play for learning.

As lead learning strategist at ELB Learning, Ellen guides how team members across the company think about learning, organizational psychology and technology. She and her team of learning strategists often work directly with customers in the early stages of partnerships and projects. She has a BA in secondary education and a post-secondary certification in educational technology. She shares her life with her husband, two dogs and forty houseplants.
